Creative Writing Scholarship

As part of our mission to support great new writers, the Empire & Great Jones Creative Arts Foundation is excited to sponsor a full annual scholarship for a writer 21 years old or older to attend the prestigious and intensive Clarion West Writers’ Workshop.

Since 1984, Clarion West has presented the six-week workshop each year in Seattle, Washington. Widely known as a training ground for the field’s finest writers, its graduates include Kathleen Ann Goonan, Justina Robson, Andy Duncan, and Sheree R. Thomas, as well as some of the authors in Spark: A Creative Anthology—like Alex Kane.

The 2014 Workshop will be held June 22 through August 1 with instructors Paul Park, Kij Johnson, Ian McDonald, Hiromi Goto, Charlie Jane Anders, and John Crowley. Applications are accepted now through March 1, 2014.

If you are a talented speculative fiction writer, learn more or apply to the program at clarionwest.org knowing you have our full support!
