Michael Campagnoli
she sighed
across the dashboard’s
glow, leaned her head
against the window
gazed an empty moon
waiting for a lover
watching for him
to rise up
up
from the puckerbrush
and mist
not to save her
but to whisper:
that love is more
that dreams are more
than waiting
for a hero
